Just recently, LogonStudio issued an error dialog during system shutdown that was closed too quickly to read .  Since then, Windows has been using the Classic Logon dialog instead of the Welcome Screen.

The restore orginal logon button gets the normal Windows XP Welcome screen back on reboot or with Fast User Switching, but any time I reenable LogonStudio, it goes back to the Classic Logon or Workstation Locked dialogs, depending on whether I reboot or logout.

System is XPSP2, with LogonStudioXP version 1.0.062. Video card is an Intel 82845 (neither Windows nor the configuration program will identify the exact model).

What was the last logon you applied with logon studio? Find out and remove the logon from
C:/program files/wincustomize/logonstudio/... remove the folder from there and restart the computer and login. Restart logon studio and apply one of the logons that came with the original program and see if it holds up. If not we have another problem with possible setup for users and how they are logged on - maybe?

For the setup to change the way you logon and off go to
control panel/user accounts/change the way users logon and off/ check the box to use welcome screen and restart the computer again. Thus after login enable logon studio and apply a logon and see if it holds up?!!...

Welcome Screen is already enabled (otherwise it wouldn't be changing back to it when LogonStudio is disabled).

It does seem to work with the base logins, but at least one of them appears to be corrupted on the actual Welcome Screen (welcome1, to be specific)...

The default ones or all that you try.

Test: open logonstudio, select logon that has color issue, under list click edit button, when editor opens select center panel in elements list, you will see settings below, for first and last color set them to dead black, 0,0,0, to do this click on color block to get color dialog, when both are set save and apply.
If I remember correctly (deleted them long ago) the default logons have image for center panel set to stretch, this is a common issue with logons, seems to be a hit and miss thing with images. I have had some to this even when creating them using high quality rendered bitmaps. It is a more common issue when using a low quality jpg and converting it to required bitmap.

First Color and Last Color are already set to RGB 000000 on the first one I tried (welcome1). I don't see a setting for image stretch.

Display is set to 32b color depth.

Have not tried reinstalling yet, as I have a couple programs running that don't handle being interrupted well running at the moment. Will try that as soon as they're done wrking.

A couple other problems got in the way of getting back to this....

A reinstallation did not help any. The color is corrputed and the center panel is in the wrong position (to be exact, it's off to the left by about a quarter inch, with the portion that goes off the edge of the panel area displayed on the far right, just before the right center position for the user entry area) on any theme I use. Top and bottom strips are in their proper position and color, as is the user entry area. Only the center image panel is broken.

The preview dialog in LogonStudio itself displays everything correctly.
